Temovate cream is a topical anti-inflammatory drug that relieves itching, redness, and swelling associated with many skin conditions. Temovate cream is appropriate for every skin type, and have very few side effects.
How Taken
Temovate cream or Ointment should be applied to the affected skin areas twice a day. Before application, make sure the affected areas are washed and dry. The medicine should be gently rubbed into the affected areas and evenly distributed. Be careful not to cover or bandage the skin area after applying the cream or ointment. Keep it away of your eyes. If any of the medication gets into your eyes, flush your eyes with a lot of water. Use this drug, following your doctor’s directions.
Warnings/Precautions
Contact you doctor in case that your condition does not improve or if it gets worse. Temovate topical can not handle alone an infection.Temovate topical is in the FDA pregnancy category C. There is not any information if this drug can cause any harm to an unborn baby. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or if there is a chance to get pregnant during treatment. If you really need to use Temovate during pregnancy, you should use the smallest possible amount for the shortest time necessary to treat the condition and under your doctor’s supervision. This drug is not known if it gets into breast milk and whether it may have negative influences on a nursing infant. For any advise, consult your doctor.
Missed Dose
If you forget a dose, take it as soon as you notice. If is it is too close to the timing of the next dose, skip the forgotten one and go back to your usual dosing schedule. Do not take two doses at a time.
Possible Side Effects
There are not declared any serious systemic side effects unless it is used a large amount of Temovate topical during a long period of time. If your body has absorbed any of the drug , this may cause halos around lights, blurred vision, an irregular heartbeat, mood changes, insomnia, weight gain, or fatigue. In any of the listed cases, consult your doctor. Less serious side effects are more common. There may occur blistering, redness, burning, itching, or peeling. If you have any of those complaints, do not stop taking Temovate topical and consult your doctor. There are possible other side effects, especially if you have taken the drug for a long time. Such symptoms may include: prolonged redness, thinning of the skin and stretch marks. There are likely to occur also effects that are not mentioned above. If you experience any strange condition, contact your doctor.
Storage
Keep at normal room temperature and prevent from excess heat and moisture (do not put in the bathroom). Store this medication in the container it came in, closed tightly and away from children. Get rid of any medication which is expired or no longer needed.
Overdose
When Temovate is used for a long period of time, it can get absorbed into the bloodstream and lead to disorders such as Cushing's syndrome. If you doubt an overdose of Temovate, find instant medical help.
More Information
You should not use plastic bandages, dressings, or diapers that stops air to circulate to the area unless your doctor gave you other directions. The use of occlusive dressings helps the increase of the drug absorption by your body. Try not to use an occlusive dressing more than 12 hours a day. You should not use other topical products on the treated area, unless your doctor gives you different directions.
