Drug Uses
Flextra DS is an analgesic and antipyretic drug purposed to relieve pain, fever and headache. It is also suitable for pain in certain kinds of arthritic conditions. Flextra DS can be also used for treating other health conditions if your doctor decides so.
How Taken
Take this drug orally on every 4 hours as prescribed by your physician. The doses are determined in dependence of your age, medical condition, and response to therapy. You should not take larger doses or use the medicine longer than the prescribed period (e.g., 10 days for adults, 5 days for children, or 3 days if taken to relieve fever). If you continue to have pain or fever, this may mean that your condition is a lot more serious than suspected. Contact your doctor for further information.
Warnings/Precautions
It is important to share with your doctor any information about your medical history, especially in cases of:Tell your doctor your medical history, especially of: any allergies, glaucoma, enlarged prostate or lung problems (e.g., bronchitis, emphysema). The usage of this drug can make you feel dizzy or drowsy so you need to be careful when involved in activities that need total attention such as driving or working with machines. Alcoholic beverages should be limited. The usage of Flextra DS can lead to damage of the liver. The combination of this drug together with alcohol can cause not only liver damage but also increase the risk liver damage with typical symptoms of stomach pain, nausea, dark urine). Consult your physician for further information. Be careful when you use the drug to treat children as they can be more sensitive to the effects of the drug (e.g., increased excitability). Inform your doctor if you are pregnant. There is not any information if Flextra DS goes into breast milk. Contact your doctor before breast-feeding.
Missed Dose
In case you forget a dose, take it the moment you remember. If it is close to the timing of the next dose, just miss the dose u have forgotten about and go back to your normal dose timing. Do not take two doses at a time in order to make up for the one that you have missed.
Possible Side Effects
Possible side effects are feeling of drowsiness and nausea. Notify your doctor if you experience any of the following conditions especially if they get worse or are persistent. Other side effects include: unusual weaknes, yellowing eyes and skin, dark urine, skin redness, persistent fever, stomach pain, swelling. You may also experience other symptoms that are not listed above and in that case you should again consult your doctor.
Storage
Keep at average room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 and 30 degrees C) and make sure the drug is prevented from light and moisture.
Overdose
Overdose of Flextra DS may be expressed in the following conditions: racing or irregular heartbeat, seizure, extreme nervousness or restlessness, unstable temperature, hallucination, difficulty breathing, shortness of breath, tiredness (extreme),unusual muscle stiffness, flushed skin, vomiting (in combination with these other symptoms). In any of the following cases, seek emergency medical help.

In the beginning of your treatment, pay attention to your reactions as it may be harmful for you to DRIVE, OPERATE MACHINERY OR DO ANYTHING ELSE THAT COULD BE DANGEROUS and require alertness. The usage of the drug alone or in combination with other medicines or alcohol may decrease your ability to drive or perform other potentially dangerous tasks. If you think you need additional acetaminophen to help you relieve pain or fever, check with your doctor or pharmacist. Ask your pharmacist to which medicines contain acetaminophen. ALCOHOL WARNING: If you have the habit of consuming 3 or more alcoholic drinks daily, ask your doctor whether it is safe to take Flextra DS or other pain relievers/fever reducers. Flextra DS may lead to liver damage. The use of alcohol combined with this medicine increases the risk of liver damage.
